As of now, the YSR Aarogyasri scheme is being implemented in seven districts around Andhra Pradesh and now will come into effect in about six districts. The scheme would also cover over 2000 treatments as 234 treatments were added to the pre-existing list of treatments. In addition to the above, the hospitalisation cost, if exceeds ₹1000, will be covered under the medical claim scheme.

  2. Under the YSR Aarogyasri scheme, all benefits provided to the people would be free of cost. The universal health card under the AP YSR Aarogyasri scheme would be applicable for any medical expense that exceeds ₹1,000.
  3. The YSR scheme is providing health care coverage of up to ₹2.50 lakhs for each family per year.
  4. CM of Andhra Pradesh will personally monitor and take reports on a regular basis on the implementation of the Universal Health care coverage scheme in Andhra Pradesh
  5. Any individual whose income is less than ₹5 lakhs can avail the benefits of the scheme and the government has included over 2000 diseases under the scheme, which would come into effect from the 1st of April.

Beneficiaries under the scheme

  1. All BPL families which are identified by the BPL ration card issued by the Civil Supplies distribution department are considered eligible.
  2. All people whose photos and name appear on the Health card / BPL ration card and who are suffering from a disease are considered eligible.
  3. Moreover, people whose annual income is less than ₹5 lakh from any caste is considered eligible.
