The progress of a nation is determined by how well it is connected. Transportation of resources plays a key role in the development of a country. Connecting various parts of the nation, therefore, becomes crucial to the country’s progress.
In order to bring about this necessary progress, the Bharatmala Pariyojana saw the light of the day.
What is the Bharatmala Pariyojana?
For those of you who remain unaware, the Bharatmala Pariyojana is a new umbrella program for the highways sector that focuses on optimizing the efficiency of various kinds of freight and passenger movement across the nation.
This is brought about by bridging critical infrastructure gaps through effective interventions like the development of economic corridors, inter corridors and even feeder routes.
The announcement of this massive project was done by Mr. Nitin Gadkari, in the presence of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
