The CBSE Scholarship is a great initiative for girl children across the nation. Education plays a pivotal role in the life of every individual. When you incentivise the process of performing well, you encourage students across the nation to perform well in their academics.
However, girls have constantly been disallowed to gain education due to the traditional viewpoint. To break that cycle of oppression, the CBSE scholarship is a merit scholarship for Single girl children.
What does the scheme do?
The scheme basically offers financial assistance as a reward for a girl child who has performed exceptionally well in class 10 and has continued her education in class 11 and class 12.
The primary objective of the scheme is to support higher education of girl students who are also the only girl child in the family.
Eligibility for the scheme
In order to be eligible for the scheme, the key conditions that need to be fulfilled are:
- The applicant should be a citizen of India
- Girl students who have successfully passed their CBSE examinations in the CBSE board with at least 60% marks or more can apply for the scheme
- The student must be studying in class 11 and 12 in a CBSE affiliated school whose tuition fee should be ₹1500 per month or lesser.
With these benefits in place for a single girl child, there is incentive enough for the family to encourage the education of their only girl child. Usually families are hesitant to spend on a girl’s higher education but this scheme takes care of some part of it, thereby lessening the resistance for a girl child to attain higher education.
