Food, clothing, and shelter are considered to be the most basic of human needs. However, unfortunately, the conditions in India are bad enough where those falling under the Below Poverty Line segment don’t even get all three of those basic requirements at once.
To make matters better, the Central government of India initiated the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, which is a governmental initiative to provide gas connections to all those who cannot afford it; especially in the most rural parts of the nation.
The Central government under Ujjwala Yojana crossed more than 8 crore connections to poor families in September 2019.
How can I check if my name has made it to the list?
- Primarily, you would have to check the official government website using this link.
- Once you click the link, you will get a page that allows you to enter the state details, district information, and tehsil/taluka. In cases where the governing body is a gram panchayat, you get to fill in that information too.
- On filling all relevant information, you can hit the select button and you will then see a screen that would possess the names of all applicants who have made it to the list will be displayed.
- If you happen to spot your name, you can scroll down to the bottom of the list and choose the option “Download in Excel” which will form as a proof to your claim in the near future.
Getting a free gas connection does take care of the food the rural population consumes, and thereby adds a definitive sense of dignity in their standard of living.
