[Pragyan Bharati] Assam Scooty Scheme 2021 Apply Online / Choose Scooter Type / Check Status

Women empowerment is the need of the hour, and governments all across the world are hopping onto the bandwagon to exhibit their support and extend a helping hand to a rightful cause. Over the years, several schemes have been launched to enable women to have a rightful place in society and create a gender-neutral world for all.

One of the newest entrants in encouraging women empowerment through education happens to be the state government of Assam. In order to encourage higher studies in girls in the state, the government of Assam has launched a new Scooty scheme 2021 for roughly about 22,000 girl students studying in grade 12 and who have secured  1st division in class 12th examinations.

Assam Scooty Scheme 2021

The Pragyan Bharati scheme or the Scooty scheme of Assam will provide a scooter to meritorious girl students in Assam. The scheme will offer the said scooter only to those girls who have passed the Higher Secondary examinations for the year 2020 in the first division.

Girl students who secure the necessary grades to avail themselves the scooty get the choice to choose from a petrol scooter and an electrical one.

How to choose the scooty type?

In order to avail the benefit of the scheme, the girl candidate has to secure 60% and above in the Higher Secondary examinations under the AHSEC. If the candidate has secured the necessary percentage, the eligible girl candidate can choose the variant of the scooter using the following procedure:

  • The candidate has to visit the Board of Secondary Education at https://sebaonline.org/.
  • The applicant has to click the option “Choice of Scooty” link in the quick links section on the homepage.
  • The applicant has to login to the portal using the roll number and registration number.
  • After logging in, the applicant gets an option to select the variant of the scooty – petrol or electrical.
  • The applicant has to then fill up the complete contact details.
  • The final step is to download and take a print of the Acknowledgement receipt and save it for future reference.

In Conclusion

For the longest time, Assam has faced the problem of early dropouts of girl students from higher standards. This was largely due to social obligations and no impetus for girl students to carry out their studies further than grade 10 level.

With this scheme in place, girls in Assam now have a chance to continue their studies and with the benefit of insight, are motivated to secure higher grades as well. Families encourage girl students now to get through their AHSEC exams and secure the Scooty for themselves.

With such impetus offered to children, the Assam government is ensuring lesser dropouts and better academic outcomes for children. In the long run, as more girls graduate from grade 12, more opportunities can be presented for them, leading to a ripple effect in the efforts towards women empowerment.  This scheme is what one could call a progressive step towards women’s empowerment.

Schemes launched by the state government

The state governments of India are the next important government bodies right after the central government of the country. The state governments constitute 28 states and 8 union territories

India is a democratic and republic country wherein highest authorities and powers are proffered to the central government. For the state government, real executive powers are given to Chief Minister as he is responsible for heading the Council of Ministers. The state governments of India work toward internal security, such as police department, social welfare, public health betterment and other similar state-related issues. The state government of the country earns its employee income from sales tax services, stamp duty services, and from some parts of GST.

The state governments have launched a variety of schemes so far. Some of the examples are as follows:

In Andhra Pradesh, Chandranna Bima Yojana, National Energy Efficient Agriculture Pumps Program, and Smart Pulse Survey have been launched. In Assam, Mass Rapid Transit System has been recently launched. In Maharashtra, Police Pratisaad Ask services and various schemes for the betterment of farmers have been launched. In Karnataka, PM Santwana Harish Yojana, and Housing scheme for Transgenders have been launched. In Uttar Pradesh, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana, Hausla Paushan scheme, and Swadhar Greh yojana have been launched.

The state government of India monitors both rural and urban development. However, it is not feasible for the state government to monitor all rural and urban local government bodies. Thus, based on the provided funding and coverage, rural and urban local entities create development plan whenever required. These government entities work in close association with planning commission and local or regional government sectors and authorities.

Apart from these schemes, the state government also ensures the effective implementation of centrally sponsored schemes in respective states.
